Baby's heartbeat

Although the precursor to heart begins to form in the embryo from 4 weeks. It may not be heard. It is still in the form of a tube. By the sixth week of pregnancy, this tube would have twisted turned and molded itself in a heart with 4 chambers and it may have actually begun to beat too, albeit at 110 to 120 beats per minute. In another two weeks i.e by 8 weeks, the heartbeat of the embryo increases to 150 -170 beats per minute.
